So, how can you get to the center of Cancun? It's usually not very complicated to reach the center of Cancun; almost all routes of public transportation buses come through here. However, the center of Cancun is a bit broad in the context of the word, so how do you get to Puerto Juárez from the center of Cancun?

The cruise port is a part of the Cancun center and can be found between José López Portillo Avenue and Tulum. At this intersection, you can take one of the buses or collectives that go through Puerto Juárez and, at some point, Costa Mujeres and part of Playa Mujeres.

It's worth mentioning that this is not the only alternative. From the center of Cancun, you can take a taxi to Puerto Juárez, but this may cost around 200 MXN to 300 MXN, which is approximately 20 USD to 30 USD.

It's also worth mentioning that being part of Cancun, it's much easier to find regular transportation to Puerto Juárez, and we repeat: The center of Cancun is broad, and the place you're looking for to board transportation to any part of Puerto is at the cruise port.

How to get to Puerto Juárez from Cancun's Hotel Zone?

From the Hotel Zone, it's also possible to reach any part of Puerto Juárez, but it's essential to understand that achieving this requires a combination of 2 or 3 public transportation services.

Why public transportation? Because taxi services available in the Hotel Zone may charge you up to 800 MXN or more to take you to Puerto Juárez, and we wouldn't want that, right?

We'll take our first bus outside our hotel. Typically, outside any of the hotels in the Hotel Zone, you'll find "bus stops," and if we're not very patient, we'll take any bus heading to the center of Cancun.

There are usually buses that can take you directly to the cruise port, but if you're not patient, you can take any other bus. So, from the center, you can take another bus to the cruise port and from here, take transportation to Puerto Juárez. That's how simple and straightforward it is.

How to Get from Cancun Airport to Puerto Juarez?

Getting from Cancun Airport to Puerto Juarez, whether to one of its hotels or to the maritime terminal in the area, is not very complicated if you book a private transfer service.

But it's also not straightforward if you choose other transportation options. First of all, do you know the distance from Cancun Airport to Puerto Juarez? The distance from the airport to Puerto Juarez is 23.8 kilometers.

Okay, can I take a bus that will take me directly to this place? No, the answer is no. There is no direct public transportation, so you would have to first get to downtown Cancun (We explained it above).

How to get from Playa del Carmen to Puerto Juárez?

Now, we're a bit further away, aren't we? Well, the only reason someone would want to get to Puerto Juárez from Playa del Carmen (PDC for friends) is because they have the maritime terminal as their destination. Why? Because they want to take the ferry, cross the sea, and explore Isla Mujeres. You won't deny it, as that would be the only reason, right?

So, how can you achieve this? How can you get to Puerto from PDC? Well, the first thing you need to do is take a collective called "Playa Express," located in the center of Playa del Carmen, very close to the famous Fifth Avenue. Alternatively, you can take a bus or VAN from the ADO terminal. Both options have the final destination of downtown Cancún.

From downtown Cancún, the next step is to head towards "El Crucero," which, as mentioned earlier, is the place where most of the buses or collectives for public transportation to Puerto Juárez are concentrated.

How to Get to the Puerto Juárez Ferry?

The maritime terminal of Puerto Juárez is the main point in Puerto Juárez and as we mentioned earlier: The most important maritime transportation connection between Cancun and Isla Mujeres. Therefore, you won't have any problems getting here from Downtown Cancun.

From Downtown Cancun, there are buses and shared vans that can take you at an approximate cost of 12 Mexican pesos (Less than USD 1) to the Puerto Juárez pier, from where you can purchase your ticket and board the ferry to Isla Mujeres.

Although Downtown Cancun is quite large, for better reference, you need to find Avenida Tulum with Avenida López Portillo (José López Portillo). From here, we guarantee you will find public transportation services to Ultramar Puerto Juárez.

Puerto Juárez to Isla Mujeres

The maritime terminal of Puerto Juárez is the main connection point for maritime transport to and from Isla Mujeres. Now that we've explored the various ways to get there, you're probably wondering about the distance and the cost of the ferry, right? Well, we'll answer those questions now!

The cost of the ferry from Puerto Juárez to Isla Mujeres is 270 Mexican pesos (14.25 dollars) per one-way trip for adults and 200 Mexican pesos (10.25 dollars) for children. Well, if you're not staying in Downtown Cancun or if you're someone who has come to live in the city of Cancun, it's normal to ask yourself this question. Quick answer? TAKE A TAXI.

But before you do that, it's important to clarify that taxis in the urban areas of Cancun and Downtown Cancun are much more affordable than any other taxi in the hotel zone or from Cancun Airport. What do we mean by this? You shouldn't take a taxi from the hotel zone to get to the Puerto Juárez pier, and perhaps, it's optional from the airport.

But the cost from those areas will be very high, it can even exceed 1000 Mexican pesos. So, if you're staying in an urban area of Cancun, you can take a taxi to Downtown Cancun, which would cost you around 80.00 MXN.

Of course, if you're looking to save even more, then take public transportation (bus or shared van), which cost 10 Mexican pesos, and almost all of them (ask before boarding) will take you to Downtown Cancun. So it won't really be complicated to achieve.
