Playa Langosta is one of the best beaches in Cancun for children, a 100% family-friendly beach where you literally have everything: A pier where you can take the ferry to Isla Mujeres or more specifically, to the Garañón park in Isla Mujeres at Punta Sur, parking, showers, toilets, a playground for children, sunbed and umbrella rentals, lifeguards, and as if that weren’t enough, various food outlets.
Playa Langosta
Playa Langosta is located 1 km from Playa Linda and just 200 meters from Playa Casa Maya. As such, this beach is located at km 5.5 of the hotel zone and opposite the famous art garden. In short, the location of this beach could not be much better than it is.
In the past, the beach was 100% local and did not have the “all the services and facilities” that it currently has. But as time went by and due to its importance both as a tourist icon and a local emblem, the space was completely enabled to become a 100% family place.
What can I find at Playa Langosta?
At Playa Langosta you can find, within a km distance, the Calinda bridge, pirate ships, the scenic tower of Xcaret, the ferry to Isla Mujeres, and even Playa Tortugas.
Of course, we are talking about what can be found within a 1 km distance, but less than 1 km away, we find the art garden and a marina where you can rent yachts, jet skis, kayaks, and paddleboards.
What facilities does it have?
The beach is fully equipped with the following public use facilities.
- Parking
- Showers
- Toilets
- Pier
- Playground
- Umbrella and sunbed rental
- Kayak rental
- Restaurant

Name | Review |
Lais Amaya | This is the most beautiful beach in Cancun! Crystal clear water, plenty of space on the sand, shade available, white sand and the water is calm. Ideal for going with children. There are public toilets and showers. |
Mariela Figueroa | It’s a special beach for children as there are no waves, you can arrive by public transport and ferries arrive there. There’s a Cancun sign and bathrooms, I didn’t see umbrella rentals so you have to bring your own stuff. Personally, I prefer the beach with waves so I only visited it to see it. |
Casa Rouse | This beach is by the entrance of Cancun, it looks calm but here depart trips to Isla Mujeres! It also has various activities like yoga, bungee jumping, swimming etc with family, friends, partner or simply alone. |
JACK DANY | It’s a very beautiful beach with no waves which makes it very nice for children |
Andrea RuGa | A clean beach but with a lot of boats, so the water doesn’t have its crystal blue color and there isn’t much space to swim. It’s ideal if you have small children since it’s very shallow at the shore. There’s a sand court to play football, bathrooms, and restaurants. |
Coraima Garcia | 4 months ago The beach is perfect even though it’s raining season it’s excellent not so dirty, there’s no place to buy snacks, soda or beers haha it would be good to buy your consumables before and also there are no street vendors |
Tips and Recommendations
To make your visit to this beach more enjoyable, don’t forget to follow our tips and recommendations:
- Arrive early: If you want to find parking, then you have to arrive early to avoid any inconvenience.
- Bring your provisions: Although there are several places to buy food and drink, they tend to be very expensive, so to avoid this, bring your own food and drinks.
- Watch your children: The beach itself is shallow, but there are areas where it starts to get a bit deeper than usual, so don’t be overconfident and watch your children.
- Carry few things: The beach is located at km 5.5 of the hotel zone and let’s say at this point the buses going “downhill” to downtown Cancun tend to be very full of people. Therefore, it will be very uncomfortable to travel if you carry many things with you.
With these simple tips, you will undoubtedly enjoy this beautiful beach in the city of Cancun more than you can imagine.
